My Brothers and Sisters,
As you can see the renovations are moving right along. We are about to enter the third month of work which started on June 11th and I must say I am pleased with the progress. I hope all of you are.
The next big phase will be putting down the new floor in the main body of the church. The side aisles are down and then the pews will be taken up on the right side and then the left side of the church, so the floor can be put in.
I really can't thank you enough for your patience during this time. I know it has been dusty, noisy, and sometimes certain doors have been closed and you have not been sure which door to enter. Your continued presence at Mass and the sacrament of Penance are truly wonderful examples to the priests and to each other. It is a real possibility that the renovations will be done in October. You know I am praying and I know you are also.
The project with the restrooms and meeting hall is also moving along. I have had two meetings with the architect and I am pleased with the way this new addition will look. We are now in the permit part of the project and once they are approved, the work will begin.
I have been working with a light designer to light the Rose Window in church at night. It is such a beautiful window and I thought it would really add to the beauty of our Church if it was illuminated at night. Besides, I am starting to get into all this construction and with all my new found knowledge of being a construction superintendent, I figured why not take on another project.
I wanted to give you an update and let you know the end is in sight. I also wanted to thank you for your continued presence at Saint Patrick's.
Be assured of my prayers for you and your families.
