Parents and godparents are expected to attend a session with one of the parish priests prior to the Baptism to become familiar with the commitments and responsibilities for nurturing children in the Catholic faith.
Adults seeking to enter the Church through Baptism generally receive the Sacrament during the Great Vigil of Easter. They normally prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation by participating in the parish Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process.
Baptism Guidelines can be found here.
Couples preparing for matrimony must be parishioners of St. Patrick and consult a priest before setting a marriage date. If a couple is not registered at St. Patrick’s and has a true desire to become active long-term parishioners, they need to introduce themselves to the pastor, fill out a registration form, and attend Mass at St. Patrick for six months before a marriage date can be discussed. Please do not set a date unless you have written confirmation from the rectory.

If you have been baptized in the Catholic Church and wish to receive the final Sacrament of Initiation, please contact the rectory for information. The Sacrament of Confirmation is generally given on the Solemnity of Pentecost at St. Matthew's Cathedral.
Other Christians wishing to be received into full communion with the Catholic Church generally participate in the parish Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process, to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion during the Great Vigil of Easter.
A parishioner known by a St. Patrick’s priest and registered with the parish for three months can receive a letter of recommendation stating their eligibility to become a godparent in a baptism or a sponsor in a confirmation at another parish.
